About The Show
OUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT GRANTCHESTER unpacks all the favorite moments that have made this MASTERPIECE series and its many characters such a hit over the years, reminding viewers why they fell in love with the show, and why its story deserves to be cherished.
Exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and video clips spanning 10 seasons reveal how this uniquely British crime drama about faith, justice, and the power of friendship became such an enduring hit with viewers.
OUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT GRANTCHESTER profiles the main characters in the series in chapters, starting with Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green). While vicars may come and go, Geordie has been a constant in all 11 seasons. Initially reluctant to team up with a vicar, Geordie soon changes his mind. Geordie has had to learn to work with three different vicars over the years — Sidney (James Norton), followed by Will (Tom Brittney), and finally Alphy (Rishi Nair) — and his evolving friendship with each has formed the heart of the series.
Additional featured characters include Mrs. C (Tessa Peake-Jones), whose upright exterior hides a kind heart, and fan favorite Leonard Finch (Al Weaver), who comes to terms with life as a gay man in the 1950s. “Our Favorite Supporting Characters” chapter features Geordie’s wife, Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth), who doesn’t take any guff from her husband, her children, or the other men in her life. And the will-they or won’t-they romance between Miss Scott (Melissa Johns) and Larry Peters (Bradley Hall) keeps everyone amused at the police station.
A delightful chapter is devoted to the undisputed superstar of the series, Dickens, who was an eight-week-old puppy when he made his debut on Grantchester. With his own stunt double who stands in for tricky jumps and swimming scenes, Dickens is a favorite of the cast.
Additional chapters include “Our Favorite Sermons” and highlights from favorite episodes in Seasons 1-10. And, as all good things must come to an end, OUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT GRANTCHESTER concludes with a sneak peek at Season 11.
