Igualada is a film about hope, and how a country against all odds can allow itself to dream again, to believe that a different type of politics is possible.
Democracy is in peril all around the world, and it's no surprise that many folks are disillusioned and alienated from traditional politics.
Would love for folks that see Igualada to come out feeling hopeful and empowered by realizing that this kind of new types of politics and political transformation is possible in a country like Colombia, rooted in inequality, rooted in racism and elitism and sexism.
If this type of change can happen in a country like Colombia, I truly believe that it can happen almost anywhere.
I think Igualada can be a ray of hope during these times.
And like Bryan Stevenson says, "Injustice prevails where hopelessness persists."
