Interview: Chris Widelo, state director, AARP New Jersey
The FBI is warning Americans of an increase in scams targeting older people. According to the agency’s most recent fraud report, scammers stole roughly $3.4 billion from seniors in 2023. Investigators say that may be the tip of the iceberg, as many incidents go unreported due to victims feeling embarrassed, afraid, or uncertain of what to do.
