I'm from Minot, North Dakota.
My family is a big, not music players, but music lovers.
I remember riding in the car with my mom on road trips and her saying roll the windows down, and we would crank up the radio and sing all these songs.
My mom was very supportive and bought all these instruments for me, piano lessons, drum kits, electric guitar.
Somewhere along the line I found a little acoustic guitar, that I started plucking on, and I just started making up songs, it just kind of kept snowballing from there.
What really inspired me and my style when I was like 15, 16 in Minot that we have this amazing DIY music scene I used to go to all these shows that they would throw in basements.
Bands from all of the country would stop and play, and I would go to these shows, and I'd see these bands doing what they loved.
I was like wow, that is so cool!
I want to do that.
That's kind of how it all started really.
